Job summary

THRIV LLC, a San Juan CPA firm, has served Puerto Rico businesses and individuals for nearly ten years. We’re growing our Tax department and seeking an experienced associate to join the team to prepare Puerto Rico and Federal income tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.

The role requires full bilingual Spanish/English communication, strong knowledge of PR tax code (including SURI), and the ability to manage multiple engagements during busy season.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• +2 years of Puerto Rico and Federal tax preparation experience at a public accounting firm preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Puerto Rico Internal Revenue Code and SURI.
• Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, written and spoken.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage several engagements during busy season.
• Experience with tax software; Canopy is a plus.
• Interest in pursuing the CPA license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PR and Federal income tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Prepare informative returns (480 series), withholding reconciliations, and related filings.
• Prepare municipal license declarations, CRIM personal property returns, and IVU filings.
• Assist with annual compliance for tax incentive decree holders (Act 60 and predecessor acts).
• Gather and organize client documentation, maintain workpapers, and track deadlines.
• Help draft responses to notices and requests from Hacienda, municipalities, and other agencies.
• Track time accurately and meet billable-hour targets.

What We’re Looking For
