Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our in-person tax office team. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare returns with guidance from experienced teammates, and explain tax concepts clearly.

Training and support are provided from day one, and earnings are hourly with potential increases as tax knowledge grows. Work hours range from 15 to 35 per week, with up to 40 hours during peak periods, and no prior tax experience is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

As a seasonal Tax Associate at H&R Block, you'll begin a career in tax and client services - no prior tax experience required. You'll earn a competitive hourly rate, with opportunities to increase your earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role.

This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
• Experience asking questions and recommending solutions based on customer needs
• Ability to work 15-35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
