Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP in Arlington, VA is seeking Tax/Audit Interns to gain hands-on experience with tax returns, audits, reviews, and assurance engagements while contributing to client projects and firm initiatives.

Interns will learn procedures, workpapers, systems, and industry exposure, while collaborating with CLA professionals and clients. This internship emphasizes growth, learning, and professional development within CPA track requirements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA exam eligibility.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Performs audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience with procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements within budget and schedule.
• Expands industry knowledge through client exposure and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates with clients and CLA team members regularly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
• Performs audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Expands industry knowledge, through greater exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.
