Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Advisor to join a local tax office in Camden, AR. You will prepare complete returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and offer personalized recommendations.

You’ll build trusted client relationships, uncover tax savings opportunities, and use our leading training and technology to support clients. This is an in-person, seasonal position with competitive hourly pay and incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential
• Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
• Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
