Job summary

Aprio’s Tax Operations team is seeking a Tax Administrator to join a fast-growing CPA and advisory firm. You will support tax return processing, e-filing, document preparation and client communications while coordinating with partners and staff.

The role emphasizes organization, precision, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic tax practice environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of administrative experience, solid Excel skills, and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years administrative experience; experience in a tax practice is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel; ability to learn Excel features and formulas
  • Intermediate to advanced PowerPoint and Word
  • Technology savvy; strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to manage upwards and coordinate with multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and organize complex activities (meetings, travel, conferences) for department members.
  • Deliver tax returns, extensions and estimates in electronic and paper formats.
  • Prepare zero extensions and e-file tax returns.
  • Coordinate receipt of signed e-file authorizations and client letters to IRS and tax authorities.
  • Prepare expense reports and manage invoicing in a professional services setting.
  • Handle confidential correspondence and client onboarding; manage workload with team.

Join Aprio'sTax Operationsteam and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio LLC is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Tax Administrator to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities:
  • Schedules and organizes complex activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and department activities for all members of the department.
  • Deliver tax returns, extensions and estimates in both electronic and paper format
  • Preparation of zero extensions in tax software
  • e-Filing of tax returns
  • Coordination of receipt of signed e-File authorizations
  • Preparing and proofreading correspondence to include client engagement letters and response letters to the IRS and various tax authorities
  • Possess a general understanding of invoicing and reporting in a professional services environment
  • Preparation of expense reports
  • Handling confidential correspondence and files and new client set up
  • Coordinating and managing workflow with the team
  • Managing due date reporting for meeting IRS/Tax authorities deadline
  • Management of partner prospects and leads
  • Reporting in various programs
  • Creation of reports in Microsoft Excel with the ability to format, create intermediate formulas, charts, and graphs
  • Support with processing of certified mail
  • Assist in front desk/receptionist rotation
Qualifications:
  • 5+years Administrative Experience; experience in a Tax Practice is a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel. More importantly, the ability to be resourceful in learning Excel features and formulas
  • Intermediate to Advanced Power Point and Word
  • Technology Savvy
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Skilled at managing upwards

  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced and time sensitive office environment
  • Proficiency in multi-tasking and prioritizing using strong problem-solving skills and the ability to self-direct
  • Aptitude for working with a diverse group of important external clients as well as internal associates at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
  • Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls
  • Acts as the ambassador of the department
  • Ability to work independently and acts as project manager on special projects
  • Proofreads for spelling, grammar and formatting, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy
  • Ability to learn quickly and become proficient with Aprio's Windows based applications
