Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation preferred.
  • Up to 2 internships or 1 year of accounting/tax experience preferred.
  • Public accounting internship desirable.
  • CPA eligibility or pursuit preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with federal and state income tax returns for various entity structures.
  • Prepare tax workpapers, schedules, and related documentation.
  • Support multi-state tax compliance, estimated payments, and filings.
  • Contribute to tax research and monitor changes in tax legislation.

A well-established private equity real estate investment firm is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its growing in-house tax department. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to develop technical tax expertise while working alongside experienced tax professionals. The role provides hands-on exposure to federal and state tax compliance, entity taxation, and a diverse real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns for various entity structures, including partnerships, LLCs, corporations, and trusts.
  • Prepare tax workpapers, supporting schedules, and related documentation.
  • Assist with multi-state tax compliance, estimated payments, and tax filings.
  • Support tax research projects and monitor changes in tax legislation.
  • Respond to tax notices and assist with gathering documentation for taxing authorities.
  • Work closely with senior tax professionals on compliance projects and special initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining organized tax records and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to obtain information necessary for tax reporting.
  • Participate in process improvements and departmental projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
  • One to two accounting or tax internships and/or up to one year of professional accounting or tax experience preferred.
  • Internship experience within public accounting is highly desirable.
  • CPA eligibility or plans to pursue the CPA preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
