Job Description

Hive Group is seeking a Task Manager to serve as a key operational leader. This position oversees the day-to-day coordination, execution, and quality assurance of tasks across multiple workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of high-visibility projects in support of the customer’s mission to deliver ready, reliable, and resilient health IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on leadership for a cross-functional team supporting administrative, facilities, task management, executive support, and human capital initiatives.
  • Manage the planning, tracking, and execution of over 500+ annual taskers using government-furnished task management tools and SharePoint systems.
  • Oversee task distribution, set internal suspense timelines, and ensure proper staffing of incoming requirements across all PMO branches.
  • Serve as the first-line reviewer for internal and external correspondence, ensuring proper coordination and compliance.
  • Assist with the hiring and onboarding of team personnel; provide guidance on maintaining skillsets relevant to legacy support and modernization.
  • Support performance management and training activities in line with human capital planning for civilian, military, and contractor personnel.
  • Collaborate with Executive Office and Government leads to address shifting priorities, operational constraints, and project risks.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Contract Manager and COR on task status, personnel readiness, risks, and mitigations.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams within a federal contracting, healthcare IT, or DoD environment. Prior Defense Health Agency (DHA) experience highly.
  • Strong experience in personnel oversight, task tracking, milestone management, and operational planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with recruiting and retaining personnel across various labor categories and disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-tempo environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • PMP or equivalent management certification is a plus.
Work Environment and Travel
  • Primarily onsite in Falls Church, VA, with some telework flexibility.
  • Occasional travel (<10%) may be required to locations such as San Antonio, TX, and Charleston, SC.
