Chicago Magnesium Casting Co. in Blue Island, IL seeks a skilled laborer to place aluminum and magnesium castings in inspected fixtures, balance to tolerances, and drill holes as specified.

You will remove castings and perform dimensional checks per work instructions, ensuring quality and efficiency in a fast-paced factory setting. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 lb and standing for long periods; strict safety standards apply, and attention to tool wear and nonconforming parts is

• Oral, written and technical communication required.

Responsabilidades

• Track and record labor time and production quantities accurately into JobBOSS and onto production travelers.
• Wear all required personal protective safety equipment.
• Use and maintain all safety equipment and devices in the work center.
• Inspect castings and routing prior to performing the target operation. Reject nonconforming parts and instructions.
• Understand and meet job specifications, production standards and work instructions.
• Inspect fixtures, drills, bushings and nose pieces for wear. Report out of tolerance conditions to supervisor or Senior Trainer. Discontinue use of out of tolerance tools.
• Mount and balance castings in target fixtures and check plates as specified.
• Target castings as specified.
• Inspect height gages, verniers, and pin gages for wear. Report out of tolerance conditions to supervisor or Senior Trainer. Discontinue use of out of tolerance tools.
• Check and record dimensions as specified. Reject castings that do not meet dimension specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Handle all tools and equipment with care.
• Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate management.
• Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Function

Place aluminum and magnesium castings in an inspected and approved target fixture. Balance the casting until it falls within the flush pins and scribed template tolerances. Lock casting in place, drill holes as specified in the work instruction. Remove casting from the fixture and dimensionally inspect as specified in the work instruction.

Lift casting into and out of fixture. Lift target gun.
