Position Summary

We are seeking a Tanker Truck Driver to operate gasoline or diesel-powered tractor trailer combinations to transport and deliver product and/or materials to various plants in Lincoln and surrounding areas. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive truck to destination applying commercial driving (DOT) regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.
• Secure loads to flatbed trailer using straps, chains & tarps.
• Inspect truck for defects before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or tire chains.
• Assist workers, sometimes by operating forklift, to load and unload trucks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One year trailer tractor or related commercial vehicle driving experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement

Other Qualifications

• Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This is a tobacco free campus and work environment.
