Impulse Space is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Tank Weldments in Redondo Beach to own the manufacturing lifecycle and drive design for manufacturability for the Helios kick-stage vehicle.

You will collaborate with machinists, welders, and technicians to meet strict timelines, implement new processes, and work with suppliers to ensure quality and efficiency in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Experience in hardware development environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software and ability to learn new tools.
• Ability to adapt from a fast, scrappy work environment to a mature, controlled production setting.

Responsabilidades

• Own the entire manufacturing life cycle for assigned projects & hardware.
• Own selection of manufacturing processes during the hardware design phase and inform design.
• Provide SME on primary structure manufacturing processes (fusion welding, solid state welding, machining, NDE, mechanical joining).
• Design, build and activate factory production cells and layouts, including material movement and facilities needs.
• Optimize and accelerate existing manufacturing processes for tank integration and supporting structures.
• Collaborate with machinists, welders and technicians to meet specs and improve manufacturability feedback.
• Provide guidance to outside vendors and support supply chain development.
• Update designs, processes, and documentation to support continuous improvement.
• Support manufacturing capital projects, including new facilities and automation.
