Job summary

PALA Interstate, LLC is seeking a supervisor to oversee construction and maintenance of tanks. You will read plans, interpret job specs, and coordinate a crew to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include permit walks, safety enforcement, equipment coordination, and training workers. A valid driver’s license and a Craft assessment are required, with NCCER certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience in craft.
• Must pass in-house Craft Assessment Test.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• NCCER certification strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Obtain work permits, perform a job walk to ensure safety per permit.
• Confer with supervisor on permit information and handle issues.
• Assess equipment needs and obtain equipment.
• Read and interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
• Assign duties and supervise work performed.
• Complete and review paperwork (sign-in sheets, MSDS, time sheets).
• Conduct toolbox safety meetings for workers.
• Resolve work-related problems.
• Train and assist workers in duties.
• Drive company truck to transport workers to and from job sites.

Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in construction of new tanks and repair of existing tanks. Supervises and directs a group of workers on a particular construction or maintenance job following specific permit orders.

Reads, studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blue prints. Uses basic math skills including geometry, trigonometry to make calculations for work. Can complete difficult job tasks according to job specifications with minimal or no supervision.

Essential Functions

• Obtains work permit from appropriate source, reads it and performs a “job walk” to make sure working environment is safe and conditions are as outlined by the permit.
• Confers with supervisor if permit information is questionable and appropriate measures are taken to handle the situation.
• Assesses need for equipment and is responsible for obtaining that equipment from the appropriate personnel.
• Reads and interprets company policy to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Assigns duties, lines up and follows all work being performed.
• Responsible for completion of and review of appropriate paperwork i.e., sign in/sign out sheets, valve lists, MSDS, time sheets, etc.
• Conducts “tool box” safety meetings for workers.
• Resolves any work-related problems.
• Trains and assists workers in performance of their duties.
• Drives company truck to transport workers to and from work site.

Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience
