Assists Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians by performing the following duties:
Key Responsibilities
- Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication.
- Ensures security of Protected Health Information as per HIPAA requirements.
- Assists in properly storing incoming supplies and drug. Counts stock to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Sorts and disperses labels to prepare for filling.
- Answers and directs internal phone calls, pulls supplies for other departments as needed.
- Performs visual inspection and labeling of compounded products.
- Assists with the cleaning of the general pharmacy, sterilization room, and equipment. Maintains cleanliness daily.
- Assists with the cleaning of the Sterile or Non-Sterile compounding labs as needed.
- Uses the dry heat oven and/or autoclave as directed.
- Logs tasks in Simplifi when appropriate.
- Checks BUDs and expiration dates as directed.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Active/current Pharmacy Technician License required. Registration(s) required by state in which pharmacy is located.
Working Conditions
- This position requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time including majority of shifts. Walking, kneeling and bending frequently.
- Pushing/Pulling totes of product on carts.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move totes of product weighing over 40 pounds. We strongly encourage team lift.
- Employees will be required to read small print.
- Required to don Gown and PPE.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
