Job summary

Roblox seeks a Technical Sourcer to help build and scale a critical engineering and AI/ML recruiting effort from our San Mateo HQ. You will proactively source talent using Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut, GitHub, arXiv, and Google Scholar, while partnering with engineering and data leaders to shape hiring strategy across emerging AI domains.

You should bring 10+ years of full-cycle recruiting, a data-driven mindset, and a track record of hiring researchers and ML experts in competitive markets.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in technical domains (AI/ML, Data Science)
• Proven ability to manage high-volume pipelines while delivering quality results
• Experience hiring researchers, ML engineers, and data leaders in competitive markets
• Influences stakeholders and solves recruiting challenges with creativity and innovation
• Experience using an Applicant Tracking System to maintain pipelines
• Data-driven approach with ability to analyze metrics and surface insights
• Startup mentality and openness to unconventional ideas
• Ability to switch between sourcing and full-cycle recruiting as needed

You Will:

• Drive hiring for critical technical roles across Engineering, Machine Learning, AI, Research.
• Proactively source and engage top talent through Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut, GitHub, arXiv, google scholar, and AI/ML research communities, amongst others.
• Influence and improve processes to help the team work smarter, faster, and at scale.
• Partner with engineering and data leaders to define role scopes, assess capability gaps, and shape hiring strategy across emerging domains like generative AI, LLMs, computer vision, and infrastructure automation.
• Share talent market insights with hiring managers to guide decisions on leveling, compensation, and candidate profiles.
• Mentor and coach hiring managers and interviewers, raising the bar on calibration, evaluation, and selection practices.
• Champion a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects our values and culture at every stage of the process.
• Ensure operational excellence with clean pipelines, accurate data, and strong ATS hygiene.
• Use data and insights to diagnose bottlenecks, measure impact, and tell compelling stories to stakeholders.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to technical leadership — bringing structured insights on global AI/ML talent dynamics and shaping long-term hiring strategies.

You Have:

• 10+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with depth in technical domains like AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume pipelines while delivering quality results
• Demonstrated success hiring research scientists, ML engineers, applied AI practitioners, and data leaders in highly competitive markets
• A strong track record of influencing stakeholders and solving complex recruiting challenges with creativity and innovation.
• Experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System to maintain candidate pipelines
• A data-driven approach with the ability to analyze metrics, surface insights, and inform strategy.
• A startup mentality and open to thinking outside of the box
• Ability to be able to switch from sourcing to full-cycle recruiting on an as needed basis.

Annual Salary Range

$159,260 - $200,630 USD

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page .

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
