Job summary

Dow Jones & Co. is seeking a Talent Scout / Host in NYC to identify, secure, and host top-tier talent for The Wall Street Journal-branded experiences. The role requires 12+ years in talent booking, hosting, or programming within media or branded content.

You will source senior executives and culture leaders, lead negotiations, and deliver on-stage conversations with editorial rigor and premium presence for a sophisticated audience.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in talent booking, hosting, interviewing, or programming.
  • Proven network with senior executives, cultural leaders, and influencers.
  • Exceptional live interviewing and moderation with editorial judgment.
  • Comfort engaging high-profile talent in live and filmed settings.

Responsibilities

  • Source and cultivate relationships with creators, executives, and category experts.
  • Lead outreach, pitching, negotiation, and deal-making with internal stakeholders.
  • Host and moderate onstage and on-camera conversations aligned with brand goals.
  • Prepare briefs, questions, and run-of-show materials for seamless events.
  • Manage scheduling, talent prep, approvals, and cross-team coordination.
  • Uphold WSJ's premium editorial standards and professionalism.

About the Role:

The Talent Scout / Host identifies, secures, and hosts top-tier talent for The Trust at The Wall Street Journal-bringing WSJ-level credibility, warmth, and authority to live and filmed experiences. This role requires 12+ years of experience across talent booking, interviewing, hosting, or programming within media, events, or branded content environments.

You Will:
  • Source and cultivate relationships with creators, executives, cultural leaders, and category experts, with a focus on C-suite and high-profile talent.
  • Lead outreach, pitching, negotiation, and deal-making in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Host and moderate onstage and on-camera conversations, delivering thoughtful, well-paced discussions aligned with audience and brand objectives.
  • Prepare detailed briefs, interview questions, and run-of-show materials to ensure seamless execution.
  • Manage logistics including scheduling, talent prep, approvals, and coordination across teams.
  • Uphold the premium editorial standards, authority, and professionalism associated with WSJ.
You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in talent booking, hosting, interviewing, or programming across media, live events, or branded content.
  • Proven network with access to senior executives, cultural leaders, and industry influencers.
  • Exceptional live interviewing and moderation skills, with strong editorial judgment.
  • Comfort engaging high-profile and C-suite talent in both live and filmed settings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and timelines.
  • Polished, credible on-camera and onstage presence aligned with a premium media brand.
