The Talent Recruitment & Fund Development Specialist plays an essential role in sustaining this mission by building strong talent pipelines through strategic recruitment efforts that result in the securing of high‑quality teachers and staff. This role is also critical in cultivating donor relationships and creating fundraising efforts throughout the fiscal year that support the long‑term organizational growth and stability of the organization.

Responsibilities

Talent and Development

  • Lead the implementation of recruitment strategies that elevate Purpose Prep’s brand and visibility among prospective candidates
  • Analyze teacher recruitment data to inform and support annual hiring strategies that ensure Purpose Prep meets staffing goals with excellence and intentionality
  • Plan, organize, and participate in both virtual and in‑person teacher and staff recruitment events to build a mission‑aligned, diverse, and high‑quality team
  • Partner with teacher preparation programs at universities and external organizations to cultivate a strong and sustainable talent pipeline
  • Manage all recruitment platforms and support the interview processes to ensure a thoughtful, equitable, and efficient candidate experience
  • Support the school’s staff retention plan

Marketing and Communications

  • Develop and manage internal marketing assets, social and newsletter content, and visual communications in alignment with Purpose Prep initiatives, celebrations, and school‑wide events—producing high‑quality materials across both digital and print formats as needed
  • Contribute to the school‑wide newsletter by curating stories, visuals, and updates that reflect the Purpose Prep vision, highlight scholar excellence, and support top communication priorities in collaboration with school leadership
  • Uphold a consistent, professional, and joyful presentation of Purpose Prep’s brand across all platforms—whether in‑school print materials, family‑facing communications, or digital graphics for social media and community engagement
  • Manage communication and coordination with select third‑party vendors, including print order placement, troubleshooting production needs, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of final assets
  • Support pre‑production, planning and creative logistics, and on‑site support for key campus events throughout the year—such as University Night and the Legacy of Purpose Gala—helping bring Purpose Prep’s culture of excellence and community pride to life
  • Advance the school‑wide fund development strategy in close partnership with senior leadership and board members, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and long‑term financial sustainability
  • Conduct proactive research to identify new grant opportunities for the school year. Develop and manage a streamlined grant application workflow, including timelines, required documents, and cross‑departmental coordination
  • Cultivate donor and corporate sponsorship relationships by identifying prospective partners, initiating outreach, coordinating on‑site school visit meetings, and strengthening ongoing engagement with existing recurring donors
  • Support the execution of cultivation strategies through coordinated cross‑channel planning and seamless logistical management for donor, volunteer, and community supporter engagement
  • Maintain and optimize the donor database through structured monthly updates that track donor activity, giving levels, stewardship actions, and follow‑up needs—supporting accurate reporting and informed fundraising decisions

Operational Support

  • Support the organization and maintenance of classroom materials, and logistical setup and breakdown during the opening of the academic year, quarterly checkpoints, seasonal break closeouts, and other key school events and initiatives
  • Provide logistical support for school‑wide initiatives, operational systems, and data‑tracking projects that ensure Purpose Prep functions with excellence and efficiency across teams
  • Oversee operational duties with a strong focus on scholar safety and smooth transitions
  • Operate informational technology systems (i.e., Enrollment, Student Scheduling, Family Information)
  • Assist with the creation of school policies & procedures and implement them with fidelity
  • Coordinate the tracking and management of student medication
  • Support school‑wide operational processes (i.e., testing, transportation) and events (i.e., school field trips, staff retreat and events)
