Job summary

AutoNation, based at the Fort Lauderdale headquarters, seeks a Talent Advisor to partner with Market Presidents across 3–4 market clusters. You will translate enterprise talent programs into market outcomes, coach leaders through performance cycles, and surface insights to improve retention and succession readiness.

Role emphasizes strategic advisory, deep relationship building, and collaboration with HRBPs/CoE.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR, talent management, or organizational development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and trust with senior business leaders.
  • Experience facilitating talent reviews, succession planning, or leadership calibration conversations.
  • Strong coaching skills to develop people leaders across levels.
  • Analytical mindset with engagement and talent data to drive decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills adaptable from frontline talks to executive briefings.
  • High autonomy to operate independently in market and align with enterprise priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to store locations within assigned market cluster on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary talent contact for 3–4 market clusters with Market Presidents and leadership teams.
  • Translate enterprise programs and tools into market-level outcomes.
  • Facilitate talent review conversations with depth, candor, and actionable outcomes.
  • Drive succession visibility and identify future GMs, leaders, and high-potentials.
  • Coach leaders through full performance management lifecycle and address issues early.
  • Translate engagement data into actionable market plans with owners and metrics.
  • Deliver frontline coaching and in-store development modules with CoE collaboration.
  • Travel to stores within the market cluster as needed to support development.

The Talent Advisor is an embedded, market-facing talent advisor who serves as the bridge between AutoNation’s enterprise talent strategy and the frontline leaders who bring it to life. This role is responsible for building deep relationships with Market Presidents and their leadership teams, translating enterprise programs and tools into meaningful market-level outcomes, and advancing the talent agenda across a defined cluster of 3–4 AutoNation markets.Talent Advisors are not program administrators—they are strategic advisors who know their talent as well as their business leaders know their operations.
