Job summary

Valiant Integrated Services seeks skilled CAT III Tajik Linguists to provide interpretation and translation services for U.S. operations and missions. You will translate, transcribe, and interpret non-technical material with idiomatic accuracy and context.

Responsibilities include document exploitation, research of foreign language sources, and providing linguistic opinions on terminology. Native proficiency preferred but not required; active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Overview

Valiant is seeking skilled CAT III Tajik Linguists to provide interpretation and translation services in support of ongoing and new U.S. operations and mission requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide foreign language support services, including transcription and translation/interpretation (idiomatic translations of non-technical material with correct syntax and expression from English to Tajik or vice versa) in support of military interrogations, intelligence collection, and other operational missions.
• Provide cultural and ethnic context of translations, interpretations, and transcriptions, offering expert linguistic opinions on the most likely meaning/intent of terms, phrases, or statements that may have multiple valid interpretations.
• Perform document exploitation, scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents and intercepted data for key information; supplement interpretations and translations with information pertinent to professional fields such as medicine, science, engineering, legal, etc., and identify and extract information components meeting military information requirement list criteria, as well as provide input to reports.
• Native proficiency preferred, not required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Security Requirements

• Must have at minimum an ACTIVE TOP SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI.
• Must be able to pass a polygraph and a CI Focus Interview.

• Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
