Job summary

Black Oak Casino Resort is hiring a Uniform Services Tailor to tailor, repair, and alter uniforms for team members in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

You will measure, fit, and adjust uniforms, maintain records, manage inventory, and collaborate with Uniform Associates to keep the area orderly and the equipment in good condition.

Qualifications

• Experience in garment alterations and tailoring (minimum 2 years).
• Ability to learn on multiple commercial/industrial sewing machines and related equipment.
• Work quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment.
• Embroidery experience preferred.
• Ability to make quick, efficient alteration decisions.
• Strong basic math for measurements and adjustments.
• Working knowledge of sewing machine operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform tailoring and repairs on uniforms in a timely manner to meet standards.
• Provide high-level internal customer service to team members seeking uniform support.
• Offer alterations and tailoring of personal garments as time permits.
• Take measurements and alter uniforms for proper fit.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and alterations.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to Supervisor.
• Document any damage to uniforms and report shortages/missing uniforms.
• Inform supervisor of problems or unusual events for escalation.
• Assist Uniform Associates in daily operations as needed.
• Make repairs and adjustments to uniforms.
• Keep the uniform area clean and orderly.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report issues.

SUMMARY

Responsible for performing tailoring, alterations and repairs to uniforms issued to Team Members in a professional manner.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Performs tailoring and repairs on uniforms in timely manner to ensure that the appearance and maintenance adheres to Black Oak Casino Resort standards.
• Demonstrate a high-level of internal customer service, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for team members seeking uniform support
• Offers alterations and tailoring of personal garments to employees as time permits
• Takes measurements of Team Members and alters uniforms as needed to ensure proper fit in a timely manner.
• Monitors and maintains accurate records of all repairs and alterations.
• Monitors inventory levels and reports shortages to Supervisor.
• Documents any damage to uniforms and notifies any shortages / missing uniforms to Supervisor.
• Informs supervisor of all problems or unusual events and/or refers difficult situations to his/her attention for handling.
• Assists Uniform Associates in daily operations as necessary.
• Makes repairs and adjustments to uniforms.
• Maintains uniform area in a clean and orderly manner.
• Monitors and maintains all equipment is in working order and reports issues to Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess minimum of two (2) years' experience performing garment alterations and tailoring
• Must have experience or ability to learn on multiple types of commercial and industrial sewing machines and equipment related to the trade.
• Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment.
• Embroidery experience preferred.
• Must have ability to make quick and efficient decisions pertaining to alterations.
• Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Must have working knowledge of sewing machine operation and maintenance, using basic sewing, mending and repair techniques.
