Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO), an Akima company, seeks a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to work on Fort Hood, TX. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling major assemblies for automobiles, buses, trucks and tractors in a hands-on shop environment.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of motor vehicle maintenance experience and knowledge of US Army maintenance procedures (AR 750-1). The ability to pass drug tests and background screening is required, and bringing your own tools is

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of motor vehicle maintenance experience.
• Must be knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.
• Must have the ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Must have the ability to receive a favorable TIER 1 investigation.
• Must be able to bring and use own tool.

Responsibilities

• The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.
• Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
