Job summary

Precise Systems seeks an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support our customer in Crane, Indiana. The role focuses on cybersecurity engineering for tactical information systems, networks, and platform systems, supporting RMF, ATO, and continuous monitoring requirements in DoD/Navy environments.

You will develop and maintain documentation (SSP, RAR, SAP, SAR, POA&M), assist with vulnerability assessments using Nessus and STIGs, and coordinate with engineers, ISSOs, and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
• 3+ years of information assurance, cybersecurity engineering, ISSO/ISSE, or related DoD cyber compliance experience.
• Experience supporting RMF for DoD information systems.
• Experience documenting RMF artifacts (SSP, RAR, SAP, SAR, POA&M, IRP, CP, SOPs, CMP).
• Working knowledge of FISMA, FIPS, NIST, DoDI guidance.
• Experience performing vulnerability scanning, STIG review, remediation analysis.
• Familiarity with Nessus, SCC, and related tooling.
• Ability to assess evolving threats and communicate technical risk clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide cybersecurity engineering support for tactical information systems.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation for certification, accreditation, authorization, and sustainment.
• Support RMF process and submission flow (system categorization, boundary definition, control selection, evidence collection).
• Perform vulnerability assessment using Nessus and STIG evaluation; develop remediation plans.
• Analyze system, network, database, cloud, and application security posture and propose safeguards.
• Maintain POA&Ms and support ATO decisions; coordinate with engineers and stakeholders.
