Job summary

BAC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Truck Driver to operate tactical vehicles and provide instruction on safe operation and maintenance in support of POI training at Fort Benning. The role includes performing PMCS, maintaining logs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Minimal qualifications include 2+ years in tactical fleet operations or related MOS, a valid CDL Class A, forklift certification, and the ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in tactical fleet operations or military MOS (e.g., 91B, 91A, 91M).
• Valid CDL (Category A) license.
• Forklift certification.
• Ability to operate heavy trucks and vehicles 26,000 pounds and over.
• Familiarity with Army maintenance procedures and safety guidelines.
• Must be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areas.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly PMCS and 10-level maintenance on assigned/unassigned vehicles.
• Operate, and load/unload from transport, all tracked and wheeled tactical vehicles (e.g., Abrams tanks, Bradley fighting vehicles, HMMWVs, Stryker, JLTV, LMTV).
• Complete DA Form 5988E and other maintenance logs accurately.
• Issue and recover vehicles in support of training missions.
• Instruct on proper vehicle operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Assist with radio, communication, and basic equipment handling tasks.
• Follow safety rules and regulations while performing job functions.
• Maintain all required endorsements, certifications, and clearances.
