Job summary

OneMain Financial seeks a Tactical Buyer to manage day-to-day purchasing, create and track purchase orders, and ensure timely procurement of goods and services.

You will negotiate with suppliers, build relationships, forecast needs with internal teams, and maintain accurate records while supporting strategies from Strategic Sourcing. This role emphasizes integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2-4 years of purchasing or buyer experience, preferably in financial services or related industry.
• Strong understanding of procurement process, supplier management, and best practices in purchasing.
• Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms and pricing from suppliers.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier performance, market trends, and procurement opportunities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in managing procurement documentation and records.
• Proficiency in procurement software; experience with platforms like Coupa is preferred.
• High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical procurement practices.

Responsibilities

Tactical Buyer

The Tactical Buyer at OneMain will play a critical role in the Procurement process by efficiently managing and executing purchasing activities that align with the company’s operational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely Procurement of goods and services at competitive prices. The Tactical Buyer will focus on executing day-to-day Procurement tasks, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with the company’s Procurement policies. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple Procurement activities in a fast-paced environment.
