Job summary

Amrize is hiring a Tack Truck Operator in its Asphalt division in Maryland. You will operate a TCT truck to transport and deliver asphalt materials to paving sites, ensuring safe, timely support for asphalt operations while adhering to safety regulations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, Maryland roadway experience, and a valid CDL with Tanker endorsement. Daily travel and outdoor work are expected in this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience on Maryland roadway projects.
  • Valid CDL (Class A or B) with Tanker endorsement and a clean driving record.
  • Experience driving TCT trucks and working in asphalt operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving processes and job site safety.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a TCT truck in asphalt paving operations.
  • Transport asphalt materials to and from job sites.
  • Load, unload, and maneuver materials as directed by the paving crew.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or delays to supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and site-specific rules.
  • Assist with general paving operations when needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Tack Truck Operator in our Asphalt division. The Tack truck operator is responsible for safely operating a TCT truck to transport and deliver asphalt materials to paving job sites. Ensures timely, efficient support of asphalt operations while following all safety regulations and crew instructions.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Safely operate a TCT truck in asphalt paving operations
  • Transport asphalt materials to and from job sites
  • Properly load, unload, and maneuver materials as directed by the paving crew
  • Maintain awareness of surrounding crew members and equipment at all times
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or delays to supervisors
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and site-specific rules
  • Assist with general paving operations when needed
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: Experience working on Maryland roadway projects
  • Travel Requirements: Daily travel required, Must have reliable transportation
  • Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record with Tankers Endorsement
  • Previous experience driving TCT trucks and working in asphalt operations preferred
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving processes and job site safety
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
