Position Description

The dump truck driver is responsible for performing duties related to Paving/Construction operation, and the safe and responsible operation of all applicable machinery and equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and consistently works in a safe manner on all job sites.
  • Works collaboratively with crew members and communicates effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrates the skills required for complex driving situations, including:
  • Situational awareness and sound judgment to make quick decisions
  • Dexterity to control an oversized steering wheel
  • Proficiency in operating a manual transmission
  • Ability to maneuver trucks in tight or crowded areas
  • Safe loading under an asphalt plant and backing up to a paver to dump materials
  • Immediately reports any equipment damage, safety hazards, or accidents to the foreman.
  • Must be able to consistently lift or exert push/pull force of approximately 50 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Position Requirements
  • 3–5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
  • Valid Class B CDL license with a clean driving record.
  • Sound judgment and ability to interpret and analyze MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).
  • Professional and courteous demeanor; must maintain vehicle appearance and condition in a manner that reflects positively on the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, talk, see and listen. The employee must be able to push levers forward and backwards. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and crouch. Employee may sit for an hour or more at a time.

Work Conditions

Incumbent must be able to tolerate moderate to loud noise level (PPE will be provided, including hearing protection as required), long hours standing, walking, and laboring outdoors in varying weather conditions – frequently in extreme heat.
