Job summary

MedStar Health seeks a strategic, results-driven Director of Denial Management & Prevention to lead systemwide initiatives that strengthen revenue integrity, reduce preventable denials, and optimize reimbursement performance across our multi-hospital system.

You will collaborate with senior leaders to develop innovative strategies addressing denials and appeals, leverage data and technology, and drive sustainable operational improvements across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Finance, Accounting or Healthcare Administration is required.
• 5–7 years Revenue Cycle experience including appeals and financial clearance.
• Healthcare leadership experience with emphasis on revenue cycle preferred.
• RN license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with VP Clinical Resource Management and leaders to identify denial mitigation opportunities and reimbursement improvement processes.
• Oversees and directs system-wide appeals and oversight of external vendors.
• Partners with system leaders to implement and sustain improvements aligned with organizational goals.
• Provides strategic direction for denial management and outcomes, with data-driven monitoring.
• Develops analytics and dashboards to standardize denial summaries across the system.
• Supports denial mitigation projects and advises entities on trends and interventions.
