Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in San Diego, CA seeks an Associate Test Engineer or Systems Test Engineer to join our team. You will synthesize customer needs into test solutions, develop and execute test plans, and coordinate testing activities to meet schedule and cost constraints.

Candidates should have a STEM degree, be eligible for a Secret clearance, and may require PAR access. This is a path to contribute to cutting-edge programs in defense and national security.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opportunities for an Associate Test Engineer or Systems Test Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.

• Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
• Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
• Coordinates integrated testing activities.
• Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
• Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

This role may be filled at either an Associate Engineer (Level 1) or Systems Test Engineer (Level 2) level.

Basic Qualifications

For Engineer (Level 1):

• Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. government Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) as determined by business needs

For Principal Engineer (Level 2)

• Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. government Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) as determined by business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• An active U.S. government Secret clearance or higher (with background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
• Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,400.00 - $104,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
