Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking a Mechanical/Propulsion Systems Test Engineer 3 on the Operations Systems Engineering team at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. The role involves developing test procedures and conducting system testing for Vulan and Atlas V launch vehicles, analyzing data, and troubleshooting ground systems.

There is potential for hazardous operations and periodic travel to other ULA sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Experience problem-solving, coordinating and presentation skills.
• Experience with trouble shooting system and component failures for quick resolution
• Experience working with Mechanical and Propulsion systems such as Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Hazardous Gas Detection, Cryogenic Umbilical and crane systems.
• Ability to work with others and MS Office applications.
• Must be available for periodic travel to other ULA sites.
• Ability to work at elevated heights and small spaces.
• Willingness for extended hours, weekends, and second/third shifts to support launches.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a active DOD secret security clearance. US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop test procedures and conduct system testing and operation of the Vulan and Atlas V launch vehicles and ground systems from receipt of the flight hardware through launch.
• Analyze test data including off-nominal data for accuracy.
• Perform troubleshooting of vehicle and ground systems when anomalies occur.
• Some testing may involve hazardous operations including work at heights, confined spaces, ordnance, and propulsion fluids systems.
