The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory seeks a Systems Research and Development Engineer to join the ASE Department in State College, PA. You will interface with stakeholders, define system architectures, and perform DoD-style systems engineering activities.

Applicants should have a technical background in Electrical or Systems Engineering, experience with hardware/software/firmware design, and strong communication skills. U.S. citizen status required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science required.
• Experience with detailed design and implementation of electrical circuits, software, and firmware.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interface with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure project success.
• Define system control and data architectures; perform DoD-style systems engineering activities.
• Travel for stakeholder engagements as needed; mentor other engineers; monitor funding and budgets.
