Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector seeks a Systems Integration Engineer to manage data flows for SAP-IT systems and build Grafana dashboards. You will use Apache NiFi and Python to engineer data flows, interface with API endpoints, and maintain holistic diagrams of data movements.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph options. Office presence is required, located in Reston, VA, with 40-hour weeks and a strong focus on secure cross-domain data handling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute or 1 year relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Linux CLI.
  • Proficiency in a programming language, preferably Python.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • Must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by security indoctrination date.
  • Strong documentation skills for change requests and leadership presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain intricate data flows from multiple sources using Apache NiFi.
  • Use Python to devise solutions for complex data manipulation challenges.
  • Interact with remote APIs to retrieve, modify, and distribute data per customer requirements.
  • Transform legacy Java implementations into Python-based solutions with modern libraries.
  • Build Grafana dashboards to visualize data flow metrics and infrastructure status.
  • Participate in weekly engineering reviews to discuss change requests and technical insights.
  • Analyze current data flows to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
  • Design secure cross‑domain channels for data movement between networks of varying security levels.
  • Document new and existing data flows using Microsoft Visio.
  • Review change request documents for technical precision for leadership endorsement.

AT&T has an opening for a Systems Integration Engineer for the TAC2O program providing managed IT support of SAP-IT systems for high-priority defense intelligence collection needs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

The Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for managing data flows for a wide range of devices. They will utilize Apache NiFi and Python to maintain and engineer data flows to meet customer requirements. They will also build Grafana dashboards to visualize the data flow metrics and infrastructure status. They will be responsible for interfacing with various API endpoints as well as maintaining holistic diagrams of each data flow.

Other: Apache NiFi, Grafana, Microsoft Visio, Cross Domain Solutions, Ansible, Active Directory

  • Develop and sustain intricate data flows from a multitude of sources leveraging Apache NiFi.
  • Devise innovative approaches for intricate data manipulation challenges utilizing Python.
  • Employ Apache NiFi and custom Python scripts to retrieve data from remote APIs, modify the data, and then distribute it according to customer requirements.
  • Transform legacy Java implementations into holistic Python solutions, leveraging modern libraries to achieve equivalent functionality.
  • Build Grafana dashboards to display data flow metrics and infrastructure status.
  • Engage in weekly engineering review board sessions, offering technical insights on change requests from both the internal team and clients.
  • Analyze current data flows for inefficiencies and propose optimized remedies.
  • Design secure cross-domain channels to facilitate data movement between networks of varying security levels.
  • Document new and existing data flows using Microsoft Visio.
  • Evaluate change request documentation for technical precision, sourced both internally and externally

Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position or one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in utilizing the Linux command-line interface.
  • Proficiency in a programming language, preferably Python.
  • Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by date of security indoctrination with any necessary. Computing Environment (CE) for certification.
  • Strong technical documentation abilities, with experience in creating detailed change request materials and presenting them effectively to leadership for endorsement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with designing and sustaining data flows using Apache NiFi.
  • General networking knowledge to include operation of routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, VPN and web proxies.
  • Working knowledge in the design and utilization of RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining both Windows and Linux operating environments.
  • Familiarity with relational SQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Possess foundational knowledge of Active Directory concepts, including Organizational Units (OUs) and Security Groups
