Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineering Manager in Wilmington, MA, supporting a major Air Force development program. You will lead a team of systems engineers responsible for requirements management, architecture development, and verification with internal/external customers and suppliers.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and experience in complex multi-disciplinary systems, with familiarity in MBSE and DOORS. Security clearance is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
• Extensive experience in systems engineering or product development with complex multidisciplinary systems.
• Familiarity with requirement management tools, configuration management, and model-based systems engineering.
• US Security Clearance preferred or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage requirements and interfaces for subsystem design.
• Develop system verification methods with test, analysis and quality teams.
• Produce verification artifacts for design reviews and deliveries.
• Provide traceability, interface management, and risk analysis across subsystems.

About This Role

Mechanical Systems Engineering Manager to support major Air Force development program. This role oversees a dedicated team of talented systems engineers responsible for requirements management, architecture development, and requirements verification through interaction with internal and external customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for overall requirements and interface management as well as verification planning and oversight for critical subsystems. The selected individual will lead a team of mechanical engineering focused systems engineers who:

• Evaluate and assess the compliance to subsystem and unit level requirements in support of system design


• Develop system requirement verification methods in coordination with test, analysis, and quality teams


• Produce verification artifacts demonstrating compliance to requirements in support of product deliveries, Critical Design Review, and Requirement Verification


• Provide requirements traceability, interface management, and risk analysis across the subsystems and units


• Coordinate efforts between mechanical design, analysis, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure cohesive system design


• Oversee multiple supplier requirements management and verification activities

Expertise in one or more of the following optional areas will be useful in this position:

• Mentoring early career systems engineers, providing technical direction and ensuring consistent engineering rigor


• Experience with DOORS requirement management tool


• Translating customer, program, and regulatory requirements into clear system specifications and design guidance

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline


• Excellent written and oral communication as well as organizational skills


• Extensive experience in systems engineering or product development roles involving complex multi disciplinary systems


• Familiarity with requirement management tools, configuration management systems, and model-based systems engineering approaches


• An existing U.S. Security Clearance is preferred, the ability to obtain one is required
