Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineer Field Tech Support Sr within the In Tube Conversion team. You will coordinate daily work assignments to meet requirements and ensure calibration and readiness of support equipment for flight tests, supporting SP27/LMS weapon systems with cross-functional collaboration.

The role emphasizes long-term planning of manpower, project status coordination, budget monitoring, and ensuring on-time performance, with travel and ladder access requirements

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Mechanical Support Equipment installation and removal.
  • Familiarity with Systems level testing.
  • Must have Interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to team on complex repair and test activities
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the interdisciplinary relationships of missile system requirements, weapon system and Range interfaces, and Facility operations
  • Provide direct interaction with senior external personnel and the LMS organization on significant technical matters
  • Monitor Support Equipment status, identify and resolve significant problems, and alert the Field Engineering Manager and LMS organizations Liaise with these organizations to ensure prompt resolution of problems, including analysis of potential causes, suggested interim measures, and final corrective actions
  • Coordinate overall engineering and technical assistance to NOTU during Preparations, In-Tube Conversion, and subsequent testing and checkout of SP27/LMS cognizant SWS Weapons Systems.
  • Light to moderate travel will be required as schedules dictate.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders to access submarines is required.

The Lockheed Martin FBM System Integration Sustainment Team integrates, sustains, and upgrades the U.S. Navy and U.K. Royal Navy's Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBMs), primarily the Trident II D5, ensuring peak readiness, performance, and longevity through advanced digital tools, rigorous testing, and lifecycle support, functioning as a critical partner in strategic deterrence by maintaining complex hardware, software, and support systems for decades.

The Systems Engineer Field Tech Support Sr will be a part of the In Tube Conversion (ITC) team. This position will be responsible for coordinating daily work assignments to ensure requirements are met. The ITC group ensures that all Support Equipment and Test Missile Kit equipment is calibrated, certified and ready to support a flight test operation.

This position will provide the longer term planning/scheduling of man power assignments to maintain flight test schedules, attend the project status meetings with the customers, adjudicating discrepancies with other contractors/branches, developing the proposals for the next contract, monitoring budgets and making adjustments as needed.

You will be responsible for maintaining the cost, schedule and on time performance of the SP27 requirements.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $72500.00 - $134600.00
