Job summary

RTI Consulting, LLC in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a current DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI and Full Polygraph to lead high-level engineering efforts across the program lifecycle.

You will define concepts of operations, document system requirements, design architectures, and develop installation and test plans while coordinating with customers and project teams to ensure solutions meet mission needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 1 year of relevant experience, or with a degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, or physics).
• For all of the above degrees, if program is not ABET accredited, it must include specified coursework.
• Specified coursework includes calculus and at least five of the listed areas (statics/dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetics, materials science, electronics, microprocessor applications, computer systems, signal processing, digital design, systems/control, circuits, communications, power, networks, software development, etc).
• Relevant experience must be in engineering systems over their lifecycle (conceptualization, design, development, testing, deployment, operation, maintenance, support, decommissioning).

Location: Fort Meade, MD - 1 FTE Clearance Required: Current DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI and Full Polygraph Position Description: Perform systems /engineering functions at a high-level: including defining and documenting concept of operations, operational/system requirements, and use cases to support system development; performing high-level system design; specifying system/component performance and interface requirements; and developing installation, integration, and acceptance test plans. Continuously assess existing organizational processes and work products to ensure they best facilitate strategic and tactical efforts. Coordinate with customers, project teams, and related organizations to ensure solutions satisfy the requirements. Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for the solutions developed by the product teams. Required Qualifications: Minimum:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience, or with a degree in a relevant technical field (for example, computer science, mathematics, or physics), entry is with a bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's or Doctoral degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.
• For all of the above degrees, if program is not Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc (ABET) accredited, it must include specified coursework *
• Specified coursework includes courses in differential and integral calculus and 5 of the following 18 areas: * (a) statics or dynamics, * (b) strength of materials/stress-strain relationships, * (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics, * (d) thermodynamics, * (e) electromagnetic fields, * (f) nature and properties of materials/relating particle and aggregate structure to properties, * (g) solid state electronics, * (h) microprocessor applications, * (i) computer systems, * (j) signal processing, * (k) digital design, * (l) systems and control theory, * (m) circuits or generalized circuits, * (n) communication systems, * (o) power systems, * (p) computer networks, * (q) software development, * (r) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, or soil mechanics.
• Relevant experience must be in engineering systems over their lifecycle (for example, conception, design & development, testing, production, distribution/deployment, operation, maintenance & support, decommissioning).
