OASYS, INC. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our US Army customer. You will drive requirements development, technical documentation, and cross-functional integration in an Agile environment to ensure mission success.

Responsibilities include end-to-end systems engineering, DOORS data management, and collaboration with Software Safety, Test, and Cybersecurity teams. A STEM degree and ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (STEM, CS, CE) is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is highly desired.
• Experience with Army Acquisition Life Cycle is a strong plus.
• Hands-on DOORS and Agile environment experience.

Job description

Systems Engineer OASYS, INC., a Leading-Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking applicants for a Systems Engineer position supporting our US Army customer.

Job Responsibilities

• The Systems Engineer will apply critical thinking to all aspects of the system lifecycle within an Agile development environment. You will be instrumental in driving requirements development, technical documentation, and cross-functional integration to ensure mission success.
• Systems Engineering & Analysis: Execute end-to-end systems engineering activities for Precision Fires programs, applying critical thinking to resolve complex, system-of-systems engineering challenges.
• Requirements Management: Develop, analyze, and manage existing and new system requirements throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Hands-On DOORS Administration: Actively utilize IBM DOORS (9.7.x) to manage requirement data independently. This includes establishing traceability links, creating objects within modules, and exporting Requirement Verification Matrices (RVMs) without reliance on a dedicated DOORS administrator.
• Agile Collaboration: Work dynamically within an Agile environment, attending regular scrum meetings and leveraging Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for requirement tracking and support.
• Cross-Functional Integration: Assimilate and align system requirements with other critical functional areas, specifically Software Safety, Test, and Cybersecurity.
• Technical Documentation: Author, review, and maintain accurate technical documentation and specifications.

Minimum Requirements

• Lifecycle Expertise: Strong background supporting systems engineering across the complete software development lifecycle.
• Domain Knowledge: A solid understanding of, or direct experience working with, systems engineering throughout the Army Acquisition Life Cycle is considered a very strong plus.
• Interdisciplinary Analysis: Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and understand their cascading impacts on software testing, system safety, and cyber defense protocols.
• Required Education: A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM, computer science, or computer engineering, etc.) is required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Eligibility: Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance. An Active Secret Clearance is highly desired.

Tool Proficiency

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with IBM DOORS (9.7.x) for active data and requirement management.
• Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for requirements support is highly desired.
