Job summary

Applied Research Solutions in the Littleton, CO area is seeking Systems Engineers to join a Scrum team delivering NGA-focused geospatial data management software. You will help with UI design, system modeling, training material development, and user outreach to ensure proper software architecture and mission alignment.

Responsibilities include collaborating with product owners and UX designers, creating wireframes, developing system models, and participating in every Scrum ceremony.

Qualifications

• US citizen is required.
• Active TS clearance to start with ability to obtain TS/SCI with Poly.
• BS in systems engineering, computer engineering, software engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years direct experience in engineering, architecture and design.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and model-based systems engineering.
• Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and modern web frameworks.
• Knowledge of GEOINT analytic workflows.
• Experience on AGILE software scrum teams.
• Experience developing user training materials and conducting user outreach.
• Familiarity with UI/UX concepts and tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
• Understanding of Cameo modeling tool; Cedalion or Orchestration Services a plus.
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders to UX designers, developers, testers and end users to translate needs into system requirements.
• Assist Scrum team in designing intuitive user interfaces by contributing wireframes and flow diagrams.
• Develop system models to support design, analysis, and communication across the team.
• Perform system analysis to identify constraints, dependencies, and integration needs.
• Support architectural decisions by evaluating requirements, constraints, and system behavior.
• Define and maintain system documentation, including interface specs and data flows.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying usability issues and automation opportunities.
• Conduct continuous user outreach, interviews, feedback sessions, usability evaluations, and demonstrations.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and UX specialists to ensure alignment with requirements.
• Maintain product lifecycle documentation and configuration artifacts.
• Produce training materials and deliver onboarding sessions for end users and leadership.
