Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. seeks a Systems Engineer at either Systems Engineer 2 or Principal Systems Engineer 3 level in Oklahoma City, OK or Rancho Bernado, CA. You will develop requirements, write interface control documents, and collaborate across IPTs to advance modernization efforts. A DoD Secret clearance is required or obtainable, with SAP eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in a STEM field; 2+ years in Systems Engineering for Level 2, or Master’s with 3+ years.
  • PhD in STEM qualifies for advanced consideration; DoD/SAP clearance is a plus.
  • Experience with MBSE, model-based approaches, and interface management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning, and interface definition.
  • Write complex specifications and engineering reports; maintain artifacts with configuration control.
  • Coordinate with IPT leads and external customers to align on technical findings.
  • Support verification/validation across multiple modernization/sustainment efforts.
  • Lead data synthesis and present findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.

This role is located in either Oklahoma City, OK, OR Rancho Bernado, CA.This Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer position is for an individual contributor within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. Responsibilities include conducting research, writing requirements, developing models, defining interfaces and performing analysis while working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure to drive the development of new program requirements, refine existing program requirements, and influence the pursuit of future technologies and capabilities. The selected candidate will collaborate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate and communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers across multiple simultaneous Modernization and Sustainment efforts.This position is currently contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.Job Responsibilities:Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning and manage interface definition efforts.Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports.Support interface/communication with program, functional and subsystem leads.Maintain Systems Engineering artifacts following proper configuration management procedures.Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure proper verification and validation of Systems Engineering artifactsPossess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with excellent communications skills to support coordination across IPTs and with external customers.Solicit input from various stakeholders and team members to synthesize data and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.We offer a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, phenomenal learning opportunities, and a very friendly team environment. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
