Job summary

Credence has an opening for a Systems Engineer to support the Army Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PM PNT) System Engineering Program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Systems Engineering with significant experience in systems engineering for DoD systems. Responsibilities include the development of engineering processes, participation in program reviews, and managing product integration. Strong knowledge of Electronic Warfare and Signals Intelligence systems is highly preferred. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health care and retirement plans.

Job description

Overview

Credence has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer to support the Army Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PM PNT) System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) Program at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. The PM PNT provides administrative, business management, programmatic contracting, information technology (IT), program management, engineering, logistics, test and evaluation (T&E), training, operations, security, technology protection, foreign military sales, and acquisition and strategic planning services to the Army director PNT systems.

Responsibilities
  • Will develop, implement, and maintain systems engineering processes and documents (i.e., systems engineering plans (SEPs), configuration management plans, risk management plans, and integrated master plans) to support the PM PNT products. This support includes direct system engineering, risk management, integrated master scheduling, and program management support.
  • Will attend PM PNT program reviews (i.e. Software Specification Review (SSR), Systems Requirements Review (SRR), System Functional Review (SFR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Production Readiness Review (PRR), Functional Configuration Audit (FCA), and Physical Configuration Audit (PCA)), including pre- and post-review events; attend IPT and working group meetings; and provide recommendations for system engineering, testing, and other improvements.
  • Will provide systems engineering support for classified and unclassified PM PNT products and documentation including risk identification and management; system configuration management; concept development; requirements analysis, development, derivation, and documentation; systems design and architecture; modeling and simulation; integration, test, and evaluation; hardware and software validation; host platform integration support; and field demonstrations.
  • Will provide system engineering activities to manage, implement, conduct, review, and update documentation to integrate classified and unclassified PM PNT products with client systems on Army platforms. This includes taking into consideration such factors as operational benefits and constraints; integration; interoperability with current and emerging warfighting capabilities; sustainment; and doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education personnel and facilities (DOTMLPF) impacts. This support shall be provided IAW DoD guidance and regulations and the systems engineering principles of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standard 1220.
  • Will develop, review, and update systems engineering processes and documents, such as the: SEP, configuration management plans, risk management plans, DoW/DoD architecture framework (DoDAF) products, and assist in the development of integrated master plans and deliver them according to PM PNT product IMS.
  • Will review and provide inputs for acquisition documentation for staffing through PM PNT leadership.
  • Will support concept development, sensor design, system design, system architecture, hardware, software, and network integration, host platform integration, modeling and simulation, test and evaluation, hardware and software validation support, experimentation and demonstration of PM PNT products or technologies through attendance and providing recommendations at product IPT meetings, working groups, and engineering meetings.
  • Will identify and assess improvements to existing products and applications as well as requirements, materiel solutions, and applications for emerging PNT technologies and augmentation technologies, strategies, tactics, and training to meet PNT requirements and support all phases of a system’s program life cycle to ensure the system is technically achievable within PM PNT identified product cost goals and schedule.
  • Will attend PM PNT program reviews (i.e., software specification review, system requirements review, system functional review, preliminary design review, critical design review, production readiness review, functional configuration audit, and physical configuration audit) including pre- and post-review meetings; attend IPTs and working groups; and provide inputs and recommendations for engineering, testing, and other improvements.
  • Will provide input into the development of SOOs, SOWs, PWSs, performance specifications, associated solicitation documentation, and provide technical advice and assistance regarding proposal evaluation.
  • Will review data artifacts for acceptability and ensure the product-data relationships are maintained and establish and maintain database(s) to assist PM PNT staff with developing and tracking PNT requirements at all levels to support customer requirements analysis, product planning, system engineering support and configuration management.
Education and Qualifications
  • Must have an active or current Secret security clearance verifiable in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Systems Engineering with ten (10) years’ experience or a master's degree with eight (8) years’ experience in systems engineering for DoD systems.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience with any of the following weapon systems development activities: product design and analysis; product development; testing and data analysis; requirement verification and validation analysis.
  • Highly preferred: Expert level experience with Electronic Warfare (EW)
  • Highly preferred: Expert level experience working with Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Systems Engineering
  • OR other related Army PNT technologies
  • Ability to interface with different levels and expertise of Army Product Management development personnel and Program Executive Officer level personnel.
  • Must be able to effectively represent PM PNT in technical and project meetings with its customers.
  • Experience developing performance specifications and interface control documents.
  • Knowledge of DoW/DoD systems engineering concepts, execution of systems engineering technical reviews, and verification and validation testing.
