Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Subject Matter Expert to accelerate optimization of ISO/IEC 15288 processes within a complex, high-assurance environment. You will analyze existing engineering and program processes, map workflows, and drive continuous improvement across enterprise functions.

Responsibilities include leading cross-functional sessions, mentoring teams, and delivering process documentation and dashboards using MBSE tools. Security-cleared professionals are preferred for this role.

Job description

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more ISO/IEC 15288 process areas
  • Analyze current business, engineering, and program processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and recommend improved processes, workflows, procedures, and operating practices
  • Apply Agile, SAFe, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to enterprise and program-level challenges
  • Facilitate workshops, working sessions, retrospectives, process reviews, and improvement activities
  • Support implementation and maturation of Agile and SAFe practices
  • Develop process maps, workflows, metrics, dashboards, and process-management artifacts
  • Use JIRA and Confluence for workflow management, issue tracking, process documentation, reporting, and collaboration
  • Assess organizational and process performance using quantitative and qualitative measures
  • Identify root causes and recommend corrective or preventive actions
  • Develop and deliver work products associated with ISO/IEC 15288 Enterprise, Project, and Technical Process Areas
  • Support engineering standards and process development and implementation
  • Plan and support engineering and process-improvement initiatives with complex or enterprise-level impacts
  • Resolve significant process and engineering issues requiring advanced judgment and analysis
  • Brief stakeholders and senior leaders on performance, risks, recommendations, and implementation status
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, program teams, technical personnel, and customer stakeholders
  • Support organizational change and adoption activities
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, guidance, training materials, and supporting artifacts
  • Mentor and coach teams and individuals on process-improvement practices and disciplined execution
  • Provide senior-level systems engineering support in a complex, mission-focused technical environment
  • Perform reverse engineering, MBSE, technical analysis, and development of engineering artifacts
  • Analyze existing systems, interfaces, architectures, and technical behaviors
  • Use MBSE methodologies and Cameo to document system structure, behavior, relationships, and dependencies
Requirements
  • All candidates must be U.S. Citizens
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph
  • One of the following: Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus 20 years of systems engineering experience; High School Diploma or GED plus 24 years of general systems engineering experience in any Process Area; Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus 18 years of systems engineering experience; or PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus 18 years of systems engineering experience
  • Subject Matter Expert in one or more ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas
  • Ability to approve delivery of work products across ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas
  • Ability to plan and develop engineering projects with unique or complex aspects impacting major enterprise capabilities
  • Ability to independently resolve important engineering issues using advanced technology or methodology
  • Systems engineering principles throughout the system lifecycle
  • Experience across Technical, Project, Enterprise, and Agreement Process Areas associated with ISO/IEC 15288
  • Effective communication with program personnel, government stakeholders, senior executives, and technical teams
  • Responsibility for technical integrity, quality, and completeness of assigned work products and deliverables
  • Demonstrated enterprise process-improvement experience
  • Strong Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience
  • Lean Six Sigma or comparable process-improvement experience
  • Experience assessing, documenting, redesigning, and implementing business or engineering processes
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams and stakeholder working sessions
  • Strong JIRA experience for workflow management, tracking, dashboards, and reporting
  • Experience using Confluence or similar collaboration and knowledge-management tools
  • Ability to develop process metrics, analyze performance data, and drive improvement
  • Strong problem-solving, facilitation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively across the enterprise
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex improvement initiatives simultaneously
  • SAFe certification, Lean Six Sigma certification, enterprise transformation experience, process governance experience, executive dashboard experience, Agile/process-maturity coaching, and large distributed or high-assurance federal mission environment experience are preferred
