We are recruiting for one contractor opening in Orlando focused on aircraft survivability equipment and threat-related rotary-wing simulation. Bring your systems-thinking approach to the simulation of aircraft survivability equipment and threat scenarios for helicopter training. We are seeking an L4 Systems Engineer to support an IRAD effort focused on next-generation rotary-wing training capabilities, including CH-53K and MH-60R/CG use cases. This opening brings together aircraft-system behavior, mission-scenario needs and model-based systems engineering to support technically credible training experiences. The role focuses on aircraft survivability equipment and threat modeling, Cameo/SysML MBSE, and aircraft systems and malfunctions. You will contribute to the engineering definition of system behavior, requirements, architecture, interfaces and traceability. Working across engineering disciplines and with domain specialists, you will help connect simulation behavior to the operational and training needs it is intended to represent. Work may include modeling the behavior of chaff and flares, warning receivers, threat cues, defensive responses, countermeasure logic and threat scenarios. Aircraft-system modeling may address functional behavior, cautions and warnings, fault injection, failure propagation, degraded modes and the cues needed to support appropriate crew responses. Cameo/SysML work may include requirements decomposition, use-case modeling, architecture development, interface definition and traceability. These activities help the team describe how aircraft, survivability and scenario functions interact and give software and test engineers a clear technical basis for implementation and evaluation.
We welcome engineers with relevant experience in aircraft survivability equipment, threat modeling, aircraft systems or mission-related simulation, together with MBSE, SysML or Cameo capabilities. Strengths in requirements analysis, system architecture, interfaces, behavioral modeling and traceability can help you contribute to this multidisciplinary effort. Rotorcraft operations, pilot training or simulator-domain knowledge is strongly desired. Clear communication, rapid learning and effective collaboration with software engineers, systems engineers, pilots, instructors and subject‑matter experts are important to the team. Responsible use of AI‑assisted research, analysis and documentation tools is also valuable, with independent evaluation of results against credible technical, operational and training requirements. You do not need every capability to contribute; the team values complementary expertise and the ability to learn adjacent domains.
Candidates must possess a valid bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of working experience. Candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance upon conversion.
