Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. (SSI) seeks a Systems Engineer for Capabilities Integration to support the CH-53K program at Patuxent River NAS, Lexington Park, MD.

You will perform critical systems engineering, research emerging technologies, analyze TRLs, and develop capabilities for block upgrades to the CH-53K aircraft. You will coordinate with PMA-261 teams, prepare roadmaps, and contribute to System-of-Systems integration and ECP coordination, enabling mature technologies to meet mission needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• At least five years of recent and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in an engineering discipline.
• Advance development of technology roadmaps experience desired.
• S&T familiarity desired; DoD security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support to CH-53K Capabilities Integration Team.
• Research and analyze emerging technologies at low TRLs for capability roadmaps.
• Neck down technologies to identify solutions for gaps, ~75% time on this work.
• Recommend maturing technologies for CH-53K Block upgrades.
• Analyze technology TRL maturation, ICDs, and SWAP requirements.
• ~25% effort on post-award System-of-Systems integration across IPTs.
• Coordinate ECPs, technical directives, and updates.

Job description

Synectic Solutions isseeking aSystems Engineer for Capabilities Integration tojoin our team in support of the Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Office (PMA-261) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. This position provides critical systems engineering support for the CH-53K Capabilities Integration Team. Responsibilities include technical research and development of emerging technologies, system analysis, and documentation for new capabilities integration into Block upgrades to the CH-53K aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering technical support to PMA-261’s CH-53K Capabilities Integration Team.
• Provide the technical research and analysis of emerging technologies at lower Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) to create advanced capabilities development roadmaps that can be presented to a CH-53K Engineering Review Board.
• Approximately 75% of this effort will be the pre-work required to neck down various emerging technologies to identify material/non-material solutions to fill identified gaps.
• Provide recommendations for the most impactful maturing technologies that bring increased capabilities to be included into bi-annual CH-53K Block upgrades.
• Perform analysis of a technology’s TRLs maturation timeline, review Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs) and SWAP requirements.
• Approximately 25% of effort will be post-award work to perform the System-of-Systems integration of various technologies and horizontal integration across Level II IPTs.
• Performs programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems; guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems; and employing systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.
• Coordinating engineering change proposals (ECPs), technical directives, and updates.

Requirements

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• Must have at least five (5) years of recent and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
• Advance development of technology roadmaps experience is desired.
• Science & Technology (S&T) familiarity is desired.
• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance required
• Must be a US Citizen
