Job summary

Worky is seeking an experienced IT consultant to support full lifecycle development for diverse DSS programs. The role involves designing systems, databases, and security configurations, and coordinating with ITS teams to plan and deliver enhancements.

You will create technical specifications, develop web and database components, and maintain documentation. The position requires strong .NET, Oracle, and Agile expertise, with a focus on enterprise-scale solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software development and systems design.

Job description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

DSS has a constant increased need for the provision of full systems life cycle applications development on various computer platforms, including a variety of client eligibility and recertification systems, employment/work engagement services, claims systems, etc., that are critical to the operation and functioning of DSS programs, requiring periodic refinements to maintain the applications at optimum service levels. Having a project portfolio which properly reflects the user’s business needs and DSS’ workload is crucial. Therefore, there is a need for IT consulting resources for the expanding responsibilities at DSS.

Tasks & Duties

• Develop system design specification.
• Develops and prepares documents for the general design of solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches.
• Develops specifications for databases, communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software configurations.
• Develops structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, computer or storage area networks, security or network programs.
• Develops, compiles, maintains and documents configurations of the following: databases, servers, computers, security and network monitor systems, packaged programs, macros, utilities, and communication systems.
• Develop system documentation
• Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software.
• Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for the support of databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems software, security and client server systems.
• Develop detailed systems operations designs.
• Perform System Design/Development
• Work with ITS staff (e.g., managers, senior programmers, support staff, product manager) to plan program implementation, enhancements, and changes
• Create, test, and maintain programs
• Design reports, audit trails/logs, security mechanisms
• Assist ITS technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, database, or IT issue by themselves
• Occasionally contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem
• Provide general programming assistance to other ITS programmers/projects as may be needed.
• Recommend business process flow improvements and clearly communicate problem/resolution process to project management.
• Develop, improve, implement, and maintain databases, enabling administrators and users to update, retrieve, arrange, or delete data within databases
• See out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Provide progress documents to upper management, using change management tools such as Service now and Jira, maintain development in different environments, by serving as a .Net and Oracle Database Expert for a speedy and effective delivery to ITS end users

Required Skills

A minimum of 6 years of experience with the following skill sets:

• Writing application software, data analysis, data access
• Data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation
• Technical and user documentation, software conversions. Experience in creating Technical Specification Documents, State Diagrams and conducting technical walkthrough with QA team.
• Exposure to environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid-range, personal computers, laptops
• Lead in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions. Extensive experience working under Agile methodologies environment, and experience with enterprise-level software architecture
• Designing 3 tiered applications
• .Net Framework including: VB.Net, ASP.NET, Experience with ADO.NET, VB6, Java Script, XML, WEB Service, VBScript, C#, Object oriented concepts and technologies
• Oracle database Backend processing and extensive experience in relational database development, for creating complex database queries, Constraints, Indexes, Views, Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Cursors and Functions using TOAD, PL/SQL Developer
• Developing Web Applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON. Expert knowledge using LINQ, and Entity Framework
• Knowledge of SOA trends, SOA standards including web services, XML, XSLT, SOAP, WSDLs, and WCF
• Proficient at developing Single Page Application (SPA) with AngularJS controllers, directives, factories, services, routing, DOM manipulation using JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, and REST API
• Developing SSIS packages for extracting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data from different sources like XML, Excel, Text files and databases (Oracle, SQL server)
• Professional experience as Full Stack (Database/.Net) developer in all the phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including User Interaction, Design, Development, Implementation, Testing, Deployment, Customer Support, Maintenance and Enhancements of applications
