Job summary

DP Professionals (DPP) is seeking a Systems Engineer III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry. The work is onsite in Hagerstown, MD for a 12-month W2 contract.

You will research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting-edge products, owning system-level aspects throughout the lifecycle. A BS in Systems Engineering or related field and 6+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience participating in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Knowledge of requirements management, derivation, allocation, and Validation (V&V) principles.
• Background with MBSE concepts and model-based approaches.

Responsibilities

• As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting-edge products and services.
• You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools.
• As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Validation (V&V) principles.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB.
• Practical knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
• Experience or certification in INCOSE standards.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
• Ability to administer baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures.
• Exposure to establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM).

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

• Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
• Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
• Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions:

• Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
• Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
• Rarely exposed to loud noises.
