Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Engineer II Systems in Sylmar, CA to support product development by performing systems engineering tasks across requirements, verification, and validation. The role involves clinical collaboration, algorithm assessment, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, marketing and regulatory teams.

You will develop test frameworks, analyze data from field studies, and help bring new algorithms from concept to product.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
2+ years of progressively responsible work in medical product development; FDA/regulatory familiarity a plus.
Experience with programming or scripting languages and test automation tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

Leads defined tasks within product development sub-systems and drives on-time delivery.
Defin es system requirements for new algorithms and transitions to projects through clinical review.
Develops and executes test frameworks to improve verification and validation.
Simulates and tests algorithms and measures against customer use cases.
Maintains feature specifications and participates in cross-functional reviews.
Travels up to 10% as needed for project support and field input.
