Job summary

International Game Technology (IGT) in Las Vegas seeks a Systems Engineer II to deploy, integrate, and support enterprise gaming solutions in casino environments. You will serve as a SME across Windows, Linux, SQL Server, virtualization, storage, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud-enabled technologies.

Collaborate with customers, project teams, software development, product support, and vendors to deliver upgrades, migrations, and high-availability operations. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with Windows Server administration.
  • SQL Server deployment and administration.
  • Enterprise networking technologies.
  • Linux command line administration.
  • System troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming licenses and security clearances as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • System Deployment & Integration: Install, configure, upgrade, and support IGT gaming systems and related infrastructure.
  • Execute software deployments, platform migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects.
  • Configure and maintain Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server, virtualization platforms, and storage solutions.
  • Support implementation of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Infrastructure & Platform Support: Troubleshoot complex system, application, database, and network issues.
  • Perform system health assessments and identify infrastructure risks.
  • Support physical and virtual environments including VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and cloud solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and security.
  • Networking & Security: Troubleshoot enterprise networking technologies including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and segmentation.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, security hardening, vulnerability remediation, SSL/TLS, and identity management.
  • Ensure compliance with gaming regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Database Administration: Deploy and manage Microsoft SQL Server environments; migrations, backup/recovery, tuning.
  • Develop automation tools and scripts using PowerShell and others; contribute to SOPs and deployment standards.
  • Be a trusted technical advisor during customer implementations and support engagements.
  • On-call support, escalation management, and major incident response as needed.
  • Automation & DevOps: Apply CI/CD concepts, Infrastructure as Code, Docker/Podman, container orchestration, and AWS experience.

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer II is responsible for the deployment, integration, support, troubleshooting, and optimization of IGT's enterprise gaming solutions in casino environments. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert across multiple infrastructure disciplines including Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server, virtualization, storage, networking, cybersecurity, cloud-enabled technologies, and containerized applications.

Working closely with customers, project teams, software development, product support, and third‑party vendors, the Systems Engineer II delivers system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and operational support for critical casino management systems. The position requires strong analytical skills, a customer‑first mindset, and the ability to resolve complex technical issues in high-availability environments.

This role offers exposure to a diverse technology stack and provides opportunities to develop expertise across gaming systems, infrastructure architecture, automation, virtualization, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.

System Deployment & Integration

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and support IGT gaming systems and related infrastructure.
  • Execute software deployments, platform migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects.
  • Configure and maintain Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server, virtualization platforms, and storage solutions.
  • Support implementation of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Infrastructure & Platform Support

  • Troubleshoot complex system, application, database, and network issues.
  • Perform system health assessments and proactively identify infrastructure risks.
  • Support physical and virtual environments including VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and cloud-enabled solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and security.

Networking & Security

  • Assist with troubleshooting enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network segmentation.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, security hardening, vulnerability remediation, SSL/TLS implementation, and identity management solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to gaming regulatory requirements and security standards.

Database Administration

  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Support database migrations, backup and recovery operations, performance tuning, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Utilize T-SQL and SQL troubleshooting techniques to support customer environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools, scripts, and operational processes using PowerShell and other scripting technologies.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, knowledgebase articles, SOPs, and deployment standards.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor during customer implementations and support engagements.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to customers, project stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Participate in on‑call support, escalation management, and major incident response activities as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
