Maymobility in Ann Arbor, Michigan is seeking a Systems Engineer II to leverage understanding of products for cross-functional engineering initiatives. The role involves supporting system design activities and collaborating with teams on verification criteria.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and over three years of experience in automotive engineering. We're looking for someone passionate about self-driving cars with great skills in communication and organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in automotive engineering working on software, hardware, or combined hardware/software products.
• Experience in Autonomous Vehicles, Machine Learning, IoT, or Mobile Applications.

Job Summary

The Systems Engineer II leverages a comprehensive understanding of the company's products and technologies to facilitate cross‑functional engineering initiatives. This role will support system design activities, ensure alignment with requirements and collaborate with test and validation teams to establish verification criteria.

Essential Responsibilities

• Leverage a system level understanding of our products and technologies to support cross‑functional engineering efforts
• Create and maintain requirement specifications by:
  • Analyzing stakeholder, product, and safety requirements to define technical system and subsystem requirements
  • Supporting system design activities, assessing impact and conformance to requirements
  • Collaborating with test and validation team to define verification criteria for system requirements
  • Reviewing legacy requirements to ensure completeness and correctness
• Evaluate industry and regulatory requirements for applicability to May Mobility products
• Performing FMEA analysis, tracking findings to resolution

• Identify gaps in processes and propose solutions for resolution
• Follow safe work procedures; Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Use of workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Report workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
• 3+ years experience in automotive engineering working on software, hardware, or combined hardware/software products

Desirable

• A Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of automotive and autonomous vehicle technologies, such as LIDAR, radar, ethernet, and CAN
• Experience in Autonomous Vehicles, Machine Learning, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), or Mobile Applications
• Experience working in a startup

Physical Requirements

• Standard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Prolonged standing
  • Prolonged computer use

Travel required? - Minimal: 1%-10%
