As a Systems Engineer supporting BWXT’s High Purity Depleted Uranium (HPDU) production capability, you will play a lead role in developing and integrating the digital, automated, and highly connected manufacturing environment required for pilot, initial-rate, and future full-scale production. You will drive systems architecture, digital manufacturing technology deployment, automation integration, and cross-disciplinary requirements management to establish BWXT’s “Facility of the Future.” This role bridges engineering, IT, operations, quality, and enterprise systems—ensuring they operate cohesively to support a scalable, compliant, and high‑performance production capability.
On-site in Jonesborough, Tennessee
The HPDU program is deploying a first-of-a-kind manufacturing capability through a phased strategy—from pilot production to full-scale operations. Success depends on seamless integration of manufacturing systems, digital tools, automation, quality systems, and enterprise data environments. This Systems Engineer will serve as the technical integrator across these disciplines, ensuring the Jonesborough facility delivers a scalable, digitally enabled manufacturing capability that supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and future growth.
Pay: $99,410- $157,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $99,410 and $157,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at‑will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
