Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Systems Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Platform Operations team. The role builds and maintains secure, scalable infrastructure across cloud and on‑prem environments, partnering with software engineering to improve reliability, automation, security, and deployment processes.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with AWS, Linux/Windows Server, IaC, containers, and production operations, and will translate business needs into robust technical requirements

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in Systems/Infrastructure/DevOps or related role.
• Hands-on AWS experience with EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Route 53
• Linux and/or Windows Server administration
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, VPCs, subnets)
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
• Observability/Monitoring with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
• IAM/SSO, secrets management, vulnerability management, and infra security
• Production infrastructure support and troubleshooting
• Translate requirements into technical test cases and acceptance criteria for complex systems
• Define and execute testing strategy including UAT and IAT
• Build platform knowledge to support Sales and non-technical teams across the company

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure across AWS and on‑prem environments
• Administer Linux and Windows servers, including patching and lifecycle management
• Build and maintain networking infrastructure (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, VPCs, subnets)
• Support CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes workloads, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Manage identity, access controls, credentials, and secure system access
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively address performance and reliability issues
• Implement security controls, vulnerability management, and patching processes
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Participate in production incident response and root-cause analysis
• Support infrastructure needs for AI-enabled applications and automation
• Assist with capacity planning, performance tuning, and cloud cost optimization
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and operating procedures
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Product, and Operations on platform improvements

Our client is a growing technology organization seeking a Systems Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Platform Operations team. This is a hands‑on role focused on building, maintaining, and improving secure, scalable infrastructure across cloud and on‑premises environments .

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in systems administration, networking, AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code, containers, and production operations . You'll partner closely with software engineering and other technical teams to improve infrastructure reliability, automation, security, monitoring, and deployment processes while taking meaningful ownership of production systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Network Engineering, DevOps, or a related role

• Hands‑on experience with AWS , including services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, and Route 53

• Experience administering Linux and/or Windows Server environments

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, VPCs, and subnets

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code , such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK

• Understanding of IAM/SSO, secrets management, vulnerability management, and infrastructure security

• Experience supporting and troubleshooting production infrastructure

• Translate business requirements into technical test cases and acceptance criteria for complex systems

• Help define and execute the overall testing strategy, including UAT and IAT

• Build deep technical knowledge of the platform to eventually support Sales and other non‑technical teams in understanding system functionality

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Okta or another enterprise SSO platform

• Experience supporting AI/LLM‑powered applications or APIs in production

• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes

• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator

• CCNA, Network+, CKA/CKAD, or Terraform Associate certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
