Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Engineer Systems Architect / Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our Systems Engineering organization. The role focuses on developing system architectures and defining capabilities and performance requirements in line with customer specifications.

The successful candidate will perform MBSE activities using SysML and Cameo, develop concepts and interfaces, and ensure requirements are met across hardware and software domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in a STEM field with related experience, or advanced degree with no required experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government Secret clearance.
• Experience with SysML, MBSE, and MBSE tools like Cameo.

Responsibilities

• Define system architectures.
• Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineer Systems Architect / Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

This role may be filled at the Base OR Principal level based on the qualifications listed, below

The individual will develop system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements. The individual will define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications, develop thorough definition of system external interfaces and define system implementation approach and operational concept. The candidate will ensure requirements are met and evaluate performance with customer.

Basic Qualifications (Base):

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 year of related professional/military experience.
• Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
• Must have experience with SysML, MBSE Frameworks, Use cases, AND/OR Sequence diagram definition using MBSE tools such as Cameo.

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience.
• Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
• Must have experience with SysML, MBSE Frameworks, Use cases, AND/OR Sequence diagram definition using MBSE tools such as Cameo.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Experience with generating SysML Diagrams, tables, and documentation using Cameo.
• Experience with modeling UCI/OMS Services and interfaces.
• Experience with modeling Cloud Native software Architectures.
• Knowledge and experience with the definition of OMS – Open Mission System Architecture Specification and UCI – Universal Command and Control Interface
• System Engineering experience specifically detailing Computer Software Component (CSC) to CSC interaction
• JIRA/Confluence experience
• Preferred candidate would have experience with HMI, Mission Displays, and Ground Systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
