Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Florida is seeking engineers to define system architectures and develop CONOPS using model-based systems engineering. You will translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications through MBSE-driven analyses and manage evolving requirements across development teams.

The role emphasizes MBSE tool usage (Cameo, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, EA) and experience in the aerospace/military context while requiring the ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in STEM with 2 years engineering experience, or Master’s in STEM with 0 years experience.
  • For T03: Bachelors in STEM with 5 years experience, or Master’s in STEM 3 years, or PhD with 1 year.
  • Able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Foundation in Model Based Systems Engineering and Architecture Development

Responsibilities

  • Define system architectures.

  • Perform trade studies to select among multiple solutions.

Essential Functions
  • Define system architectures
  • Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Execution of trade studies to select from among multiple potential solutions
  • Perform Systems Requirements analysis
  • Management of requirements, include decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation
Basic Qualifications
  • For T02: Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 2 years engineering related experience, OR Master’s in STEM 0 years of experience.
  • For T03: Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years engineering related experience, OR Master’s in STEM 3 years of experience, OR PhD in STEM 1 year of experience.
  • Able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Foundation in Model Based Systems Engineering and Architecture Development
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering, with experience using Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Applied knowledge of aircraft design
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred
  • Experience with Cameo Magic Draw or another MBSE tool such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Enterprise Architect
  • Experienced developing various DODAF view artifacts, especially Operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like CAMEO

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
