Job summary

ALTEN Consulting Services GmbH is seeking a skilled IT systems engineer to model system designs in an agile environment and collaborate across product teams in Germany.

You will refine key functions such as routing, POIs, GIS, and IT security, define software requirements, and work closely with developers through design, implementation and verification phases while creating automated tests and participating in customer meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or systems engineering at Master’s or Diploma level.
• Solid experience in IT systems design and requirements management across disciplines.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence; knowledge of DOORS/Jama and Git.
• Hands-on experience with Scrum, SAFe or Kanban in agile environments.
• Fluent English communication; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model system designs in an agile way for different functional areas of the system.
• Develop key functions such as route calculation, POIs, GIS, databases, and IT security while aligning with architectural goals and trade-offs.
• Define software requirements and collaborate with software developers throughout development, implementation and verification.
• Design and create automated system and software tests.
• Prepare for and actively participate in meetings with customer representatives and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuously improving agile working methods as a team.
