Job summary

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is hiring a Systems Engineer to support C2BMC and Missile Defense System programs for the Missile Defense Agency.

The role focuses on systems engineering disciplines, MBSE, modeling and simulation, and performance analysis to support architecture, requirements, integration and test. The ideal candidate has experience in DoD systems and is prepared for Agile development practices, scripting, and tool usage (MATLAB, Python, Java).

Qualifications

Systems Engineer

We are hiring a Systems Engineer supporting C2BMC and Missile Defense System (MDS) programs for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This role supports systems engineering, system architecture, integration and test, requirements development, MBSE, modeling and simulation, and system performance analysis for the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

We are seeking an engineer with experience in systems engineering disciplines such as systems architecture, requirements, design, integration, or test. The position supports complex missile defense assessments and trade studies using tools and technologies such as CAMEO, DOORS, MATLAB, Python, Java, mathematical modeling, simulation, and Agile/iterative development practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive system assessment activities supporting the C2BMC Element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.
• Evaluate systems across multiple scenarios and architectures to assess and optimize mission and system performance for the Missile Defense Agency and warfighters.
• Perform systems analysis and trade studies to optimize system-of-systems architectures and define technical concepts and solutions.
• Develop and maintain modeling, simulation, and analytical tools of varied fidelity to predict performance against evolving missile defense threats.
• Develop requirements and system architectures supporting Missile Defense System (MDS) capabilities.
• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO, DOORS, and System Architect to support requirements, architecture development, trade studies, and technical decision-making.
• Develop, maintain, and improve requirements management processes, tools, risk and opportunity management processes, and technology readiness assessment activities.
• Define, schedule, assign, execute, and monitor system integration and checkout activities.
• Evaluate integration and checkout results against requirements to determine readiness for subsequent integration activities.
• Support subject matter experts across integration and test, systems engineering, system performance, and system-specific technical domains.
• Develop and drive systems engineering integration and test and system analysis approaches.
• Develop, select, tailor, and deploy integration and test processes, tools, and metrics.
• Execute and document system integration and test activities and events.
• Identify and implement improvements to engineering and analytical tools to increase team productivity.
• Support resolution of complex missile defense engineering and system performance challenges.

Qualifications

• Secret Clearance Required to Start
• Bachelor's or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in systems engineering, including one or more of the following disciplines: systems engineering, system design, system architecture, integration, requirements, or test.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance or possession of an active Top Secret clearance.
• Understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) and missile defense command and control, battle management, system architecture, and communications concepts.
• Experience with the Missile Defense System (MDS), C2BMC, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), or related defense systems.
• Experience verifying system requirements.
• Understanding of systems engineering and iterative product development using Agile practices.
• Experience developing capability assessments, assessment objectives, assessment plans, and procedures.
• Experience with scripting and automated test development.
• Experience using MATLAB, Python, Java, or similar programming environments to develop analytical tools or perform numerical modeling of complex systems.
• Experience performing systems or performance analysis, including system concept trade studies, operational analysis, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, measures of effectiveness, technical performance measures, discrimination methods, probability analysis, or vehicle analysis.
• Experience modeling or simulating missile defense elements or related systems, including air combat, air defense, ballistic or non-ballistic target intercepts, space vehicles, or sub-orbital mechanics.
• Experience with Agile development processes.
• Experience working across Missile Defense Agency organizations and associated sub-elements.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of related professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
